The Mumbai Police have reportedly initiated efforts to extradite Anmol Bishnoi, who is wanted in connection with a shooting incident outside actor Salman Khan’s residence. In a significant development, US authorities notified Mumbai Police about Anmol Bishnoi’s presence in the United States.
Acting promptly, the Mumbai Police are working to bring the 25-year-old, the younger brother of imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, back to India. He is implicated in several high-profile cases, including the incident involving Salman Khan. Last month, the Mumbai Police filed a petition in a special court seeking permission to start the extradition process. On October 16, they informed the court of their intention to retrieve Anmol Bishnoi to face charges related to the shooting case.
A senior police official informed the newspaper that Anmol Bishnoi is believed to have orchestrated several operations for his older brother, Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently incarcerated in Gujarat’s Sabarmati jail. In October, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) announced a reward of ₹10 lakh for information leading to Anmol Bishnoi’s arrest.
Under investigation by the NIA for his alleged role in a shooting incident outside actor Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence in April, Anmol Bishnoi has also been placed on the agency’s most wanted list. The bounty on Anmol Bishnoi, also known as Bhanu, was revealed last month by unnamed officials, who stated he is thought to be residing in Canada and frequently traveling to the US. Additionally, he is reportedly linked to the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, which occurred on October 12 in Mumbai’s Bandra.
