On Tuesday, the Supreme Court issued a warning to Patanjali Ayurved, a herbal product firm that was co-founded by yoga guru Ramdev, against making “false” and “misleading” promises in their advertisements regarding the healing of various diseases using their medicines.
“Patanjali Ayurved needs to halt its deceptive and dishonest advertising right away. During an oral hearing on a case by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), a bench made up of justices Ahsanuddin Amanullah and Prashant Kumar Mishra stated, “The court will take any such infraction very seriously.”
“Synthetic medicines are laboratory-manufactured drugs derived from natural sources,” he stated. With integrated, evidence-based therapy methods found in yoga, Ayurveda, and naturopathy, disorders like type 1 diabetes, thyroid problems, high blood pressure, normalising sugar levels, obesity, and others are cured. This is true; it is not false, asserted Ramdev.
