Unusual circumstances led to the death of a 32-year-old dengue sufferer in Prayagraj who was supposedly given juice from a sweet lime plant (Mosambi) instead of blood.
After the patient’s family claimed that mosambi juice drip was provided to the patient in place of plasma, the hospital has now been sealed, and Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has commissioned an investigation into the event.
On social media, a video purportedly revealing a bogus UP blood bank facility has gone viral. A nearby journalist posted about it on social media. Both plasma and mosambi (sweet lime) juice “look” identical to the uninitiated.According to the deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak, an investigation into the incident is ongoing, and a test report is forthcoming shortly. He promised that those found culpable in the case would face strict punishment.
Due to the increasing number of dengue patients in the area, UP doctors and paramedical workers were not allowed to take vacation time. On Wednesday, the Allahabad High Court ordered the Municipal Corporation in this area to inform it of the actions taken to control and prevent dengue. The state government was questioned about the improvement of medical facilities by the court’s Lucknow Bench.
Despite Uttar Pradesh and a few adjacent districts experiencing an unexpected increase in dengue cases within the previous week, government data showed that the number of infections has increased dramatically in recent years. There were 29750, 23389, and 20749 dengue cases reported in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Rajasthan, respectively, in 2021. 1.93 lakh incidents from all throughout the country were reported in 2021.
