The total number of cases currently stands at 4,46,80,094, while the number of fatalities, including the one reported from Madhya Pradesh on Monday, stands at 5,30,271, according to the Ministry of Health’s official website. The country’s current Covid-related fatality rate is 1.19 percent. According to the website, a total of 85,282 tests were administered on January 8 in India. The daily positivity rate was 0.20 percent, and the weekly positivity rate was 0.11 percent, according to the news agency PTI.The Center issued cautious measures and issued an alert after China and other East Asian nations reported an increase in the number of Covid infections last month, urging states and Union territories to be ready for anything. Officials from the health ministry predicted that the number of Covid cases will rise in January of this year based on trends seen in earlier waves.
