India Urges Its Citizens to Exit Iran Amid Spike in Iran-US Military Tensions

Amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, the Indian government has issued a fresh advisory urging its nationals in Iran to leave the country using all available means of transport, including commercial flights. The move comes against the backdrop of growing fears of a possible military confrontation in the region.

The next round of negotiations on a potential nuclear agreement between Tehran and Washington is scheduled for Thursday, February 26, in Geneva. The date was confirmed by the foreign minister of Oman, which has previously played a mediating role in facilitating dialogue between the two sides.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has reportedly issued a 10–15 day ultimatum to Iran to agree to a nuclear deal, cautioning that failure to comply would lead to “unfortunate” consequences for the country.

Adding to the volatile atmosphere, fresh protests have erupted in parts of Iran, particularly in universities located in Tehran and Mashhad. Demonstrations against the regime led by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei reportedly continued for a second consecutive day on Sunday, reflecting rising domestic unrest amid the international standoff.
