Around 159 platoons force has been deployed across Odisha to enforce Covid lockdown guidelines and around 71 cases were registered in the last 15 days along with 269 persons arrested and 8300 vehicles were seized.
According to Crime Branch YK Jethwa statement, in the last 15 days around Rs 2.80 crore was recovered as fine from Covid-19 guidelines violators. He further stated that their objective is to ensure that people follow the lockdown and shutdown guidelines sincerely so that they do not have to take coercive action.
He further added that around 22 flying squads have been formed to check black marketing and hoarding of essential items and price jacking by private hospitals. They warn not to resort to such activities during the Covid crisis and the offenders will face the strictest action. People who want to report such an incident can call the district helpline number or dial the State Control room number 112.
Regarding the vaccination, he informed that the vaccination drive is being carried out in every district and now the gap between the two doses has been increased from 4 weeks to 6 weeks. He requested people to wait for six weeks and not to crowd the vaccination centres.
Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi stated that the residents can Dial 100 and avail help in Twin City while the What’s App is being used to register grievances.
