If you are yearning for a getaway that makes your togetherness perfect far from the city’s hubbub and chaos, Eco Retreat, a unique initiative by Odisha Tourism is one of the best places you could opt for.

This off-site destination will imbue your spirit with a lovely experience, offering a perfect blend of luxury beach glamping, delicious food, adventure sport, beach spa with euphonious cultural nights.

Eco Retreat– a first in eastern India providing a confluence of glamorous camping experience and luxurious amenities on the beach is organized by Odisha Tourism on the glistening Ramachandi Beach near the Konark Temple. The objective is to boost Odisha tourism footfalls and to catapult the destination to an experience-rich beach tourism hub of global standards.

With its beautiful synthesis of heritage, Nature and artistic finesse of Puri-Konark marine drive, the destination has the potential to emerge as a premium beach holiday.  The state government has initiated this premium beach carnival with an investment of Rs 5 crore.

The beach carnival began in mid-December, 2019 and will continue till January 31st, 2020.

The 49-day premium beach camping promises to provide 50 plush cottages packed with lovely ambiance, finest hospitality, delectable cuisine, beach spa, adventure and water sports activities, Nature trails, wholesome day itineraries, cultural evenings, etc. It also has the capacity to accommodate a full-fledged corporate conferencing facility for 150 people.

Eco Retreat is the brainchild of incumbent tourism secretary Vishal Dev. And, he has taken assiduous efforts in its positioning and brand promotion.

“Couples across age groups want a getaway that makes their togetherness perfect. They look for new ways to spend their quality time with their loved ones and this off-site destination having luxurious accommodation, offering rich thematic ambience, a dedicated dining area and multiple options of staying in the Swiss cottages will give the travellers a wholesome memorable experience”, said Dev.

He also hoped that the Eco Retreat will soon be recognized as the most-favored MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions) product of the country.

The unique tourism product has got a rousing response from tourists.

“We have received wonderful response till date, in terms of check-ins, we have registered an occupancy of 60 per cent with the last two weeks registering almost 100 per cent booking”, Dev adds.

Stays at Eco Retreat range from Rs 6,000-a-day (Continental Plan) in the twin-sharing format to Rs 25,000-a-day (American plan) for the small group (five people) format.

The daily visitors’ footfalls clocks in at over 5,000 during weekends. Weekdays witnessed about 2,500 to 3,000 people coming in to enjoy water sports, food stalls and having a good time at the beach shacks.
