In an important step to support maternal health and encourage the birth of girls, the Odisha government combined the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) with the Mamata plan to develop an integrated program. Women who give birth to a son would receive Rs 10,000 under the integrated plan. However, under the integrated system, mothers would now receive Rs 12,000 for the birth of a female child, instead of the prior Rs 10,000.
However, no more than two children will be eligible for this support. However, the two-child restriction will not apply in the event of twins. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated this co-branding effort on Tuesday with the goal of encouraging the birth of female children and promoting the health and well-being of pregnant and nursing mothers.
Anganwadi staff would get Rs 250 instead of the previous Rs 200, and Anganwadi volunteers will receive Rs 150 instead of Rs 50, as part of the scheme’s incentives. For the execution of this integrated project, the national government has contributed Rs 115.97 crore, while the Odisha government has set aside Rs 511 crore. An estimated 4.5 lakh pregnant women and new moms in the state are anticipated to benefit from this campaign.
