The girls were forced to practise Christianity while being housed in the illegal children’s home, according to NCPCR chief Priyank Kanoongo.On Saturday, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, requested the Mohan Yadav government to intervene in the case of the 26 girls who vanished from an illegal children’s home in the state capital of Bhopal.”The case of the disappearance of 26 girls from a children’s home operating without permission in Parwalia police station area of Bhopal has come to my notice,” Chouhan wrote in a post to X.
“Considering the seriousness and sensitivity of the matter, I urge the government to take cognisance and take immediate action,” he stated.
Anil Methew, the manager of the children’s home, has been listed as an accused in a first information report (FIR) filed at the Parwaliya Sadak Police Station in Bhopal under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, according to ANI.26 of the 68 girls between the ages of 6 and 18 who were enrolled at the home have been reported missing, according to the FIR. It also noted that the home was unlicensed and not run in accordance with the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
