Six national highway (NH) stretches in Odisha are among the 26,700 km to be monetised by the government and these assets could bring in investments worth Rs 1.6 lakh crore during 2022-25.

According to the reports the stretches are – 58-km Puintola–Sunakhala NH, 76-km Sunakhala–Bhubaneshwar NH, 59-km Bhubaneshwar–Puri NH, 75-km Chandikhol-Bhadrak NH, 63-km Bhadrak-Balasore NH and 77-km Chandikhol-Paradip NH.

As pet the National Monetisation Pipeline Document, the total length of highway assets considered for monetisation (26,700 km) constitutes around 22 per cent of the total NH, estimated to be about 1,21,155 km excluding the network operated by the private sector under BOT (Toll) based PPP concessions. The four lane highways and above will be monetised and the highways which will become operational over the NMP period have also been considered as part of the monetisable asset base.
