The Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia is currently focused on the battle for the semifinals. Teams still in contention to advance to the last-four stage will try to get there by learning from their mistakes and picking up those key victories with just a few games left.

In order to stay in the running for a berth in the semifinals, India will want to use their fourth Super 12 match against Group 2 opponents Bangladesh on Wednesday at the Adelaide Oval to right the wrongs from their five-wicket loss to South Africa in Perth.

“We are quite confident, but we also understand that if we want to win, we must play extremely well going forward. The next four games must be won in order to advance. To win this tournament, you must win the remaining four games, “Dravid’s straightforward statements on India’s path in the competition during the pre-match news conference.

India’s performance against South Africa was ruined by the aggressive pace and bounce of a powerful four-man pace attack, led by Lungi Ngidi’s four wickets. Suryakumar Yadav, who struck a stunning counterattacking 68 and led India to a respectable total, was the only batter to struggle.

David Miller was able to reach each of his half-centuries despite the bowlers’ best efforts to promptly take up the first three wickets. India, a team that isn’t often linked with shoddy fielding efforts, too made mistakes.India would first want their top order to begin shooting in sync. Even though Virat Kohli has scored runs, they would rather for skipper Rohit Sharma and a struggling KL Rahul to work together to build a strong batting partnership. If the top order fails, the middle and lower orders, which include Suryakumar, Hardik Pandya, and Dinesh Karthik (if certified fit on the morning of the match), would have the duty of doubling the score and engaging in some power hitting.

With the ball, India must choose how to best utilise Ravichandran Ashwin’s four overs, who can be useful against Bangladesh’s four left-handers, including their captain Shakib Al Hasan, in addition to properly managing their death overs. On the other hand, Bangladesh enters this game fresh off of a thrilling three-run victory over Zimbabwe in Brisbane. Pacer Taskin Ahmed has excelled for them during their campaign, which also gives them a chance to advance to the semifinals.

Ahmed has taken eight wickets in the competition so far and has been excellent with the new ball, earning him two Player-of-the-Match honours in Bangladesh’s two triumphs. Hasan Mahmud and Mustafizur Rahman, two other pacers, have provided excellent support for him as well.

The team management would have been happy with opener Najmul Hossain Shanto’s 71-run career-high against Zimbabwe in the batting department. Still, they want Shakib, Soumya Sarkar, and the finishers, Nurul Hasan and Yasir Ali, to play well against India’s bowlers.
