As hotter days were predicted by the IMD, the maximum temperature in three locations in Odisha on Sunday reached 38 degrees Celsius. The state’s maximum temperature of 38.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Balangir that day, according to the regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar. Malkangiri (38 degrees) and Titlagarh (38.2 degrees) in the same district came next.
The twin city of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack registered maximum (day) temperatures of 35.3 and 34.6 degrees Celsius, respectively, while Nayagarh and Bhawanipatna in the Kalahandi district hit 37 degrees Celsius. According to the Met Office’s estimate, several locations in the state should see a 3–4 degree Celsius increase in maximum temperature during the following four days. However, after then, there won’t be any significant temperature changes.
Minimum temperature (night temperature) is also likely to rise by 2-3 degree Celsius during next 5 days at many places.
