Agarwal has skillfully used his experience and expertise to steer the company to enviable heights by offering the farming machinery, technologies and equipment of the highest standard to the customers over the years.

Founder, Deepak Agarwal

An engineering graduate, Agarwal was greatly influenced by his father who was already an established businessman. Thus, instead of going the conventional way, he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and established Balaji Autoworld in Sambalpur in the year 1998. The company started off by taking two-wheeler dealerships of LML. A year later, Agarwal went a step ahead and took the dealership of Massey Ferguson, a world-renowned premium brand offering a wide variety of tractors and farm machinery. “Sambalpur is an agricultural-dominated district. The demand for high-quality and efficient tractors, especially among the farmers spurred us to acquire the tractor dealership. Since then, we have never looked back,” he recollected.

During the decade-long association with Massey Ferguson, Balaji Autoworld became a formidable force in the field of tractor dealership in the state. With record sales coupled with quality service and workforce, Agarwal forged ahead and took the dealership of John Derre, India’s largest tractor manufacturers offering a wide range of tractors, combine harvesters, implements and other agriculture-related equipment. Today, Balaji Autoworld is a fledgling tractor dealership group in the state with one showroom at Sambalpur and two branches, one each in Laikra block (Jharsuguda) and Kuchinda. At present, it sells more than 1,000 units per annum and accounts for a major share of tractor sales in the western belt of Odisha. “We have always believed in the ‘Customer First’ policy. Our knowledge of the automobile sector accompanied with a customer-centric approach has helped us grow with each passing year. We thank each and every customer who has reposed their faith in us,” he said.

The state’s economy is largely dependent on the growth of agriculture. Thus, the farming community should have timely access to right technology and equipment. This has driven Agarwal and his team to deliver unparalleled service to customers especially the farmers of the western belt of the state. With over two decades of existence in the market, Balaji Autoworld has become synonymous with quality and perfection. Most importantly, The experienced and trained technician team provides doorstep service to farmers in case of any product maintenance or service issue, something which has augured well both for the company and the customers. Besides, extensive demonstration is given by the team to empower the small and marginal farmers and help them get abreast with the product usage and new farm technologies.

Agarwal’s hard work and vision has reaped success stories of many farmers who have become financially independent and are able to earn a handsome amount out of farming after using their products. “Since ours is mostly a farmer-centric firm, we are more than happy to have served them over the years and it feels even great when we become the reason behind their financial independence and success. We have few customers who have been with us right from the very beginning. This inspires us a lot,” he says adding that his company has also recently acquired the dealership of Yanmar, a Japanese agriculture equipment player. Currently, Balaji Autoworld offers tractors, combine harvesters, cutivators, rotary tillers, rotavators, rice transplanters and more that have immensely benefited the farming community in the state.

Agarwal, who looks up to his father as inspiration believes that hard work, honesty and commitment is the key to success in life. Lastly, Agarwal is contemplating to increase the sales in the next two years as well as modernize all the facilities to offer their customers world-class service. “Our only vision is to remain market leaders in all the products that we sell by introducing new technology and service for our esteemed customers. Also, we are in talks to join hands with local manufacturers and sell their products in the near future,” he concluded.
