Being such a stalwart in the education world makes a milestone. what really made up your mind to be an educationalist?

I always believed, the bigger the problem, the bigger the opportunity. Every social problem has an opportunity and the biggest social problem during those times was quality education and health in our region. From there, my journey began. I had never planned to become an edupreneur but the only thing in my mind was to find a solution or to do something to address the social needs of the locality. Later on, one researcher while working on my life journey used the tag ‘Social entrepreneur’. Now with time, we adopted many innovative practices in education during pandemic as well as in post pandemic time under my leadership. Probably that made many to tag me as an educationalist.
Vikash Group of Schools started its expansion in Chhattisgarh. What made you think for this expansion?
As I told earlier Vikash always works on the basis of social need and to meet people’s aspiration. In Vikash campuses at Bargarh and Sambalpur we are having a good number of students from Chhattisgarh. The students are also doing good in our system. Our school parents and well-wishers always proposed us to start at Chhattisgarh. So, we started our school at Raipur, Jagdalpur and Rayagad in this academic session to impart quality education.
What made you to get associated with Asian Institute of Public Health University?
We are quite successful in health sector in Western Odisha with our three hospitals. I observed certain aspects in our approach to overall health of any individual like lack of awareness related to health issues, lack of quality human resources in the health sector etc. Having all these in my mind I received an opportunity to get associated with Asian Institute of Public Health University which is a Privately operated public health university located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. After association my objective is very clear regarding the roadmap of the University. I will promote research activity through existing international collaboration and also ensure creation of a platform to have quality human resource through effective teaching & robust training. I will come up with special drive to create public awareness throughout Odisha with a tag line that Value Health before sickness arrives.
How has your experience been, in this field and also being a major part of this iconic Vikash Group of Institutions?
At this point of time to sum up my experience for this iconic Vikash Group of Institutions simply a process of learning about life and a never-ending process. To elaborate the root of Vikash culture stems from social need. So, each and every one of my team is having a clear perception that we are here to transform the dream of our students to reality. I am a firm believer of value-based approach in all issues pertaining to my institutions. This commitment to set a standard based on values for the quality service has earned the trust of people. This ensures quality education and health service at an affordable cost for the middle-class section of the society.
For me the flow of trust and affection within the student-teacher-parent trio is important to improve the quality of education. In all my campuses we are having staff quarters for our teachers. The In-House faculty concept ensures availability of teachers round the clock and also ensures welfare of the teacher. So, an emotional bonding beyond professional context exists within the trio.

Do you think the NEP would make a massive change among the teachers and the students and it’s Stakeholders, what’s your view point on this?
The National Education Policy (NEP) is a significant reform initiative for the educational sector in many countries, including India. In my opinion NEP is having its own impact on all the stakeholders like teachers, students, Parents and institutions. Professional development of teachers, holistic and multidisciplinary education to students, focusing on critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and life skills are at the center stage of NEP. NEP encourages parental involvement in education by establishing mechanisms for feedback, communication, and collaboration between parents, teachers, and schools.
NEP envisions the restructuring of educational institutions into multidisciplinary and flexible learning spaces. It emphasizes the integration of different disciplines, vocational education, and co-curricular activities. NEP also promotes the use of technology in education infrastructure, including the availability of digital resources and connectivity. At Vikash we are working in all these aspects.
