Three people were rescued from a level 2 fire in the Gomati Bhavan Building near Girgaum Chowpatty, and two blackened bodies were found; firefighting efforts are still on.
A level 2 fire broke out at around 9.30 p.m., leaving two burned bodies found on the third story of the Gomati Bhavan Building in Ranganekar, close to Girgaum Chowpatty. According to BMC officials, the building’s second and third floors were the only areas affected by the incident. Firefighting efforts continued until the time of going to print, involving the rapid deployment of sixteen firefighting vehicles, including eight fire engines and six jumbo tankers. After three people were freed from the structure, the fire department conducted inquiries to determine if there were any more people inside.
