Sajjan Jindal, the MD of JSW Group Steel, has called the rape accusations made against him “false and baseless.” The chairman and MD of JSW Group were accused of raping a thirty-year-old woman. According to the Free Press Journal, the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) police station received its first complaint on February 16, 2023. On December 13, 2023, a FIR was lodged against Jindal following the woman’s allegations of rape.
In his individual capacity, Jindal made the following statement in private: “Mr. Sajjan Jindal denies these false and baseless allegations. He promises to cooperate completely with the investigation. At this point, we won’t be making any more comments because the investigation is still ongoing. We respectfully ask that you respect the family’s privacy.
Charges under Sections 376, 354 and 506 of the IPC are included in the FIR. The alleged incident happened at the JSW Corporate Building in BKC on January 24, 2022.
