Rajnath Singh criticises the Sachar Committee report and the Congress

If elected to power, Rajnath Singh claimed that the Congress manifesto shows covert attempts to impose a quota based on religion. The Congress party’s manifesto ideas for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections have drawn criticism from Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who stated that the grand old party has indicated that it would implement religion-based reservation if it were to win the majority of the vote. Rajnath Singh fiercely criticised the Congress during a speech to the public in Visakhapatnam for what he perceived as attempts to sow religious divide within the armed services and other institutions.

He denounced the decision as unique in India’s post-independence history and described it as a risky attempt to introduce religious considerations into the military forces. The Sachar Committee Report, published in 2006, recommended counting the number of Muslims serving in the military forces during the Congress regime. Such an attempt to split the forces in the name of religion has never been tried before in the history of independent India, according to Singh.

He charged that the Congress was hiding a larger plot to sow discord among government agencies and the workforce. The grand old party once more alluded to religious minorities being given preference in government employment in the current platform, which, if put into effect, might even apply to positions in the armed forces. The cohesiveness of the nation is impacted by this concept. Isn’t this an extremely alarming circumstance for our nation? Singh posed a rhetorical question.
