Around July 24, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts the formation of a new low-pressure region over the north Bay of Bengal. According to the IMD’s estimate, a number of districts in Odisha are expected to get heavy rainfall as a result of the new low-pressure region.
The development of an upper air cyclonic circulation is expected to result in the creation of a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal. Increased precipitation and cloud development will result from this circulation’s improved moisture intake into the area. As a result, it is anticipated that the local weather will become more unpredictable, possibly bringing thunderstorms and a lot of rain. Odisha is forecast to see heavy rainfall from the weather system beginning on July 23. The highest rainfall is anticipated on July 24 and 25.
Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Balangir, Boudh, Malkangiri, and Phulbani (Kandhamal district) are among the districts that are anticipated to get significant rainfall. The monsoon trough stretches up to the north Bay of Bengal, and the low-pressure system is presently over north Madhya Pradesh. On July 19 and 20, this trough is predicted to produce mild to moderate rainfall to different areas of Odisha.
