There is a possibility of continuous low pressure in September. Another low pressure system is likely to form in the central-western and north-western Bay of Bengal on September 7.
As a result, the state will experience heavy rainfall and monsoon conditions will remain active. The monsoon will be active from September 5th, and every week thereafter a series of cyclones can form over the Bay of Bengal. For this reason, September can have heavy to heavy rains.
Three cyclones formed over the Bay of Bengal in August, with average rainfall in the country 6% above average. Odisha saw 7% more precipitation than average from June to September.
IMD predicts that September will also experience above-normal precipitation for a prolonged period.
