Bhubaneswar Police Bans Use Of DJs During Ganesh Puja

Extensive preparations have been made by the Bhubaneswar Police for the nonviolent Ganesh Puja celebration on September 7. The police have prohibited using DJs during Ganesh Puja this year. The playing of conventional musical instruments is prioritized instead. DCP Prateek Singh of Bhubaneswar claimed that thorough talks were undertaken with puja committees, and their issues were taken care of.

“Matters related to the procession, which will be held on September 8, 11 and 15, have been discussed. We have been directed to use traditional musical instruments instead of DJs during the procession. The committees will need to ensure that city traffic is not affected due to processions,” said Singh.

In addition, issues including sufficient parking, fire safety precautions, CCTV cameras, and volunteer deployment have also been reviewed with the puja committees. If someone creates a twisted idol of Ganesha, harsh action would be taken, according to Police Commissioner Sanjeev Panda. He threatened to take legal action against any organization or club that vandalises a statue.
