Bibhav Kumar is placed under three days of police detention by the Delhi Tis Hazari Court in relation to the alleged assault of Swati Maliwal. In the case of the alleged attack on Swati Maliwal, Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court on Tuesday sent Arvind Kejriwal’s assistant, Bibhav Kumar, into three days of police custody. The culprit was to be under the custody of the Delhi Police for five days. The Delhi Police requested that Kumar be questioned in custody, but Kumar’s attorney objected, saying there was insufficient proof. The ruling by the court was made the day after a Delhi court denied Kumar’s request for bail in the case, stating that AAP MP Swati Maliwal’s filing of the FIR did not appear to be the result of “pre-meditation” and that her accusations could not be “swiped away.”
“The victim’s claims must be accepted on their face value and cannot be disregarded. Additional Sessions Judge Sushil Anuj Tyagi had stated that “the injuries are evident in the MLC after four days, so the mere delay in registering the FIR would not have much impact on the case.”Maliwal claimed in a FIR that on May 13, at the CM’s house, Kumar had slapped her seven or eight times without causing her any harm. She said that Kejriwal’s assistant “kicked her in the chest and pelvis, slapped her, and purposefully pulled up her shirt.”
