For maritime security, India bases two warships off the coast of Aden

Patrolling the high seas off the coast of Aden as part of maritime security and anti-piracy operations are INS Kochi and INS Kolkata. As part of maritime security measures in the north Arabian Sea, India has stationed two missile-guided destroyers near the coast of Aden, while the US has unveiled a multinational naval force to defend commerce vessels in the Red Sea from the Iranian-backed Houthi militia. On the Red Sea’s mouth, the Indian Navy destroyer INS Kochi is assisting commerce vessels in defending themselves against Somalian pirates, despite the government’s continued silence on the matter. In an effort to bolster maritime security near the coast of Aden, India has also dispatched the guided missile stealth destroyer INS Kolkata.

Off the Gulf of Aden, the Indian Navy’s destroyer Kolkata is guided by missiles.

In order to defend seaborne business in the Red Sea against ballistic missile and drone assaults launched by Shia Houthi rebels in Yemen, the US established Operation Prosperity Guardian on Monday. The UK, Bahrain, France, Norway, and other nations are members of the coalition. With the help of terrorist organisations like Ansar Al-Sharia, Islamic State, and Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, the Iran-backed Houthi militia is fighting the Yemeni government and has almost entirely taken on the role of a state actor, armed with drones that can fire missiles, helicopters, and ballistic missiles. The Houthi militia, which is based in South Yemen close to the Bab el-Mandab Red Sea chokepoint, is aiming to put pressure on the international community to cease Israel’s military operations in Gaza by attacking commercial vessels.
