Luna is a writer, translator and a mythologist who is on the path of self-discovery through literary exploration and spiritual evolution. She has written several books such as ‘Her Harem Journal’, ‘What the Heaven!?’, ‘God Bless You Devil Kiss You’ and counting. Let us know more about her in this interview.
Q1) What inspired you to become an author?
Ans: Books have always been my closest allies for over a decade. Reading provoked me and many contradictory questions arose from it. So, I just chose to write down my own opinions and personal perspective on things that kindled my thoughts whenever I looked at the world, all the while hoping to be better than I was the day before.
Q2) If you have to explain your book ‘What the Heaven!?’ in two lines, what would it be?

Ans: A book of poetry, manifesting magic both beautiful and terrible, these metaphorical and metaphysical poems embrace the Trinity of the Divine Feminine: maiden, mother and crone, and celebrates sisters, daughters and mothers who goes unnoticed and unappreciated in the world of men. It’s a ferocious yet tender collection of poems solemnizing the self through self-love, self-discovery and self-acceptance.
Q3) Tell us about your book ‘God Bless You Devil Kiss You’. Also, attach the link of your books for the readers to read.
Ans: It’s a cross-genre anthology kindled by various legends and myths, featuring strong-willed heroines such as a rogue infernal Princess, a beautiful beast, a sassy mortal Goddess, a formidable femme fatale, an exiled ‘madwoman’, a deadly witch, a monotony-breaking prodigy, a daring heretic, a game-changing legendary Queen, an revolutionary dreamer and many others in alluring and strangely addictive tales of Darkness and Light and everything in between that can transport the readers to faraway lands filled with romance, revenge and redemption. Love and horror reigns in this world where the veil between Hell and Heaven has almost faded to non-existence; faded to nothing. You can find my books through this link: https://linktr.ee/jluna810
Q4) Nowadays, a large section of the youth has lost interest in writing. What are your views on the topic?

Ans: I believe that everyone has their own individual way of expression. Especially, in today’s digital world, people have access to a wide variety of platforms and various modes to express through. Moreover, the ones who are writers at heart will always keep writing no matter which century it is, but whether or not their written works come to see the light of the day is up to the monetary market and the publishing opportunities available in the modern world to decide.
Q5) Finally, how did you decide the plot for the story ‘Her Harem Journal’? And, also, give out one message that you want to give to the readers.

Ans: While reading the histories of many cultures, I’ve always come across entries about Imperial Harems for Emperors but never for an Empress. “Why not?” that was ultimate question that led to this reverse-harem book’s existence, thwarting patriarchal norms and stigma attached to a woman’s sexuality according to many cultures even in the 21st century. ‘Her Harem Journal’ is, also, the result of my fascination with the concepts of life after death and reincarnations. I wanted to write a book combining three of my favourite genres in this book: Fantasy, Romance and Historical-Fiction. This book is special to me in more than one way because it is my first ever hand-written book which I thoroughly enjoyed writing due to my interest in calligraphy.
Through this book, the message that I want to convey to my readers is: “A reminder that women will always have a choice, even in a world that often attempts to diminish their options (be it social, political, financial, economic, domestic or anything) by constantly blaming the existence of their uteruses.”
