Bengaluru experienced light rainfall and cloudy skies on Thursday, bringing much-needed relief from the summer heat. Several parts of the city reported early morning drizzles, cooling down the rising temperatures. However, the wet conditions also impacted traffic, causing minor delays for commuters.
As of 7:20 AM, light rain was recorded in Sadashivanagar and Seshadripuram, while drizzles were reported in Malleswaram, Jalahalli, Mathikere, Peenya, R.T. Nagar, Mahalakshmi Layout, and Nandini Layout. The unexpected showers led to a pleasant start to the day, with many residents sharing images and videos of the rainy morning on social media.
One user described the morning as “cool and refreshing,” while another humorously remarked, “Bengaluru weather is weathering,” as the city embraced its signature climate shift. Meanwhile, traffic authorities remain alert, prepared to manage congestion if rains intensify later in the day.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru is set to experience a rainy spell for the next five days. The forecast predicts cloudy skies with intermittent rain and thunderstorms from April 3 to April 7, with heavier showers expected on Sunday, April 7. By Monday, April 8, weather conditions are likely to shift to partly cloudy skies.
This spell of rain has brought much-needed respite for residents battling summer temperatures. With the city transitioning into a cooler, wetter phase, citizens are advised to carry umbrellas and stay prepared for sudden showers. Further updates on Bengaluru’s evolving weather conditions will be closely monitored.
