NSA Doval will discuss the violence in London with his UK colleague

National Security Adviser Ajit Doval is anticipated to bring up the March 19 attack on the Indian High Commission in London by violent separatists led by extremist Avtar Singh Khanda as well as the extremists’ tearing down of the Indian National Flag during today’s India-UK strategic meeting. He would request that the UK government take action on Indian complaints over the incident because it might have an effect on bilateral ties. The incident at the Indian High Commission in London during a protest and the removal of the Indian National Flag by extremists are two topics that India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is likely to discuss with his British counterpart Tim Barrow today during the India-UK Strategic Dialogue meeting in the Capital.

The national security establishment is keeping quiet about the conversation, but according to HT, NSA Doval will bring up the matter forcefully with his counterpart and request that the Rishi Sunak government take decisive action against separatists who are attempting to divide the Indian diaspora in Britain. The March 19 incident occurred after the crackdown on separatist leader Amritpal Singh’s organisation in India. The Indian High Commission in London has reported the incident to the UK Home Office and police, but the Delhi Police has also filed a FIR (number 80/23, dated March 23, 2023) based on a complaint made by an Indian national. The FIR was filed by Special Cell under Sections 109, 147, 148, 149, 120-B, 448, 422, and 325 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as Sections 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Section 3(1) of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act (because the Indian HC is a part of Indian sovereignty), and Section 2 of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act. NSA Doval is anticipated to request that the Rishi Sunak government take immediate action against the main perpetrator of the protest and the violation of Indian HC, Avtar Singhj Purba aka Khanda, and his sponsor Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, a proscribed leader of UAPA-designated Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) separatist organisation, based on the FIR registered and the demarche to the British Government.
