Beginning on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will spend three days in Gujarat where he will launch many projects totaling more than 14,600 crore and speak to crowds in advance of the state Assembly elections scheduled for later this year. At Modhera village in Mehsana district, PM Modi will arrive in the evening to officially launch and lay the cornerstone for a number of projects totaling about 3,900 crore. Modhera will be recognised as India’s first village with solar power running continuously by him.
The PM will also go to Modhera’s Surya Mandir and pray at the Modheshwari Mata Temple. According to a government announcement, installing a ground-mounted solar power plant and more than 1,300 rooftop solar systems on private and public buildings allowed Modhera to become the nation’s first 24/7 solar-powered village. The prime minister will dedicate several national projects totaling more than Rs 8,000 crore on Monday at Amod in the Bharuch district.
On Monday, he will officially open the Modi Shaikshanik Sankul in Ahmedabad, an educational centre for underprivileged youngsters. He will launch and lay the cornerstone for $1,460 crore worth of developments in Jamnagar in the evening. PM Modi will speak to a crowd on Tuesday in the Rajkot district of Jamkandorna. At Ahmedabad’s Civil Hospital, he will also perform the opening ceremonies and lay the cornerstone for projects worth 1,300 crore rupees.
According to the press release, he would thereafter go for the Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh.
