On the eve of Christmas, internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a giant 3D sand art of Santa Claus with a mask at Puri sea beach. Pattnaik attempted to create a new world record by making this monumental sand art.
The 3D sand art of two Santa Claus holding a mask also gives a message of – “Use Mask, Stay Safe” to the world where people should be self-aware by wearing a mask and staying safe during this pandemic. The festivity can be riskier as people intend to celebrate with their friends and families, but right now, the world is still fighting against the COVID-19, which had already taken millions of lives worldwide. Taking necessary precautions against Coronavirus and maintain social distancing is the main aim of Patnaik’s sand art.
Sudarshan also aims to enter the Lima Book of World Records again with this beautiful sand artwork. He seeks to break his previous Limca record of creating a sand Santa Claus over 4,900 sq ft of beach area with the new sculpture.
The sand art is created over an area of 6,000 sq ft, the 120-ft long and 50-ft wide colorful sand sculpture. Sudarshan and his 20 students made the art, and they finished it in 12 hours. With Santa Claus, he also created a Christmas tree.
Sudarshan said, “We all know that there are certain restrictions to celebrate festivals due to this ongoing pandemic. So, we must follow the instructions of WHO by wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing. For the last 20 years, I have been doing sand art during Christmas and set many world records in the Limca Book of World Records. This year, I have also attempted for a world record by creating this 3D sand Santa with a mask over a 6000 sq ft area, which will break my 4900 sq ft record. I have got an official email from the Limca Book of World Records to attempt this.”
Every year, the artist creates massive sculptures on Christmas celebrations on the eve of the festival.
