This was a significant blow to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.

With the backing of two more Independents, the Nayab Singh Saini government currently has 88 members of the 90-member Haryana assembly, two shy of the majority needed. In the Haryana assembly, the BJP has forty MLAs, the Congress has thirty, and the JJP has ten.Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda and state Congress president Udai Bhan were present at a press conference in Rohtak where independent MLAs Sombir Sangwan (Dadri), Randhir Singh Gollen (Pundri), and Dharampal Gonder (Nilokheri) announced their decision.Despite the JJP’s withdrawal from the coalition government in March, a few MLAs from the Jannayak Janata Party have recently shown support for the BJP.

According to Dharampal Gonder, the decision was made in response to a number of problems, such as those affecting farmers, inflation, and unemployment. “The three Independent MLAs have extended their support to the Congress,” stated Udai Bhan. Ten JJP MLAs and Independents had previously supported the BJP government; however, the JJP lost its support, and now Independents are also departing.

“The government of Nayab Singh Saini is now a minority government. The Congress leader stated that Saini had no right to remain, not even for a minute, and that he should submit his resignation.
