Will India be out of UNSC ?

Keep India from having a permanent seat on the UN Security Council, according to S Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs, and the UNSC’s credibility will be called into question. Through its G20 chairmanship, the US “has demonstrated its ‘capability of helping’ other countries,” he continued.
According to Jaishankar, India took up the G20 presidency at a time when the country began to mean more to the globe, and it is now acknowledged as being crucial to the global labour market and talent pool. He was delivering a speech at the Hindu College of Delhi University during a conference titled “G20 Presidency and its Global Impact.”

The world’s largest country in terms of population and the fifth-largest economy cannot be kept out of this, and if it is, doubts will be raised about the credibility of the United Nations, according to Jaishankar. “There is not an equal representation in the UNSC as there is no African country, Latin American country, and the fifth-largest economy cannot be kept out of this,” he said.”BRICS first suggested changing UNSC memberships. History will evolve, and the UN will adapt. The forces that are preventing it will keep trying, but it will happen eventually,” he added.

According to the Minister of External Affairs, just 50 nations were members of the UN when it was founded in 1940, during the Second World War. However, with 200 countries now participating, the membership has expanded by a factor of 4.
“The 1940s saw the formation of the current United Nations structure. The UN today has more than 200 members, compared to 50 when it first began. Therefore, modifications will be made, he stated.
