Odisha celebrated receiving the “Global Model on Millet Promotion” award at the International Nutri-Cereal Convention (INCC) 5.0 in Hyderabad, which was given to the state by the Odisha Millets Mission (OMM). Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain accepted the award on behalf of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment after it was first accepted by Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary. The OMM team and Prem Chandra Chaudhary, Director of Agriculture & Food Production, were present at the presentation today at Krushi Bhavan.
At the INCC in Hyderabad, Dr. Padhee thanked numerous stakeholders after accepting the award on behalf of the Odisha Millets Mission from Her Excellency Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana. The Odisha event honoured the state’s combined efforts in developing millet promotion tactics.
The Novotel, HICC, Hyderabad hosted the International Nutri-Cereal Convention on November 27 and 28, 2023, to highlight Odisha’s outstanding millet promotion efforts. The state of Odisha is recognized for its creative and sustainable farming methods, which have become a model for international agricultural policies, with the “Global Model on Millet Promotion” award.
