Fir Against 8 Twitter Handles For Misleading Information In Unnao Case

The Unnao Police has lodged an FIR against eight Twitter handles and its user on charges of spreading misleading information in connection with the recovery of the bodies of two minor girls in Baburha village of the district.

The Twitter handles include @themojostory which is run by senior journalist Barkha Dutt, @BhimSenaChief run by Nawab Satpal Tanwar, @NilimDutta, @janjagranlive, @SurajKrBaudh spokesperson, Azad Samaj Party), @vijayambedkarUP, Abhaykumarazad97, and @Rahuldiwkr.

The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh working vigorously to crackdown on social media offenders regarding this incident. Earlier Udit Raj, former MP and Congress leader had been booked by Unnao police for allegedly spreading misinformation through his Twitter account.

According to the Unnao police, these eight Twitter users had tweeted that two minors who were found dead in the fields were sexually assaulted. And their last rites were performed against the wish of their families.

Later, the Twitter users were booked under the charges of spreading rumors to cause riots, and under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.

Anand Kulkarni, the Superintendent of Police stated that all those who are misleading the information and creating disharmony through social media platforms will be punished. They have lodged the FIR and will also conduct an inquiry into the tweets. He even said that that fake information was spread intentionally to depreciate the ruling government and disturb the general law and order.

After the police issued the statement that the post mortem report did not confirm rape some of the tweets and updates were removed. The report clearly stated that there was no sexual assault and injuries on the victim’s bodies. Even the police also cleared that neither the police nor the administration was trying to conduct the last rites of the two girls. The family informed the police that some of their relatives will arrive from Surat and then they would perform the last rites of both the girls.

Is It A Time bound Investigation?

The Special Investigation team, set by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to investigate assault and torment in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras, has been given 10 additional days to present the status report to the CM.

FIR Against Rahul Gandhi And Priyanka Gandhi

“The ligature mark over the neck is consistent with attempted strangulation but (it) did not contribute to death in this case,” the report said.

About the cause of death, the report disclosed it will be confirmed by chemical analysis report of the viscera.

The Safadarjung Hospital said the victims’ viscera has been preserved and other important samples have been given to the investigating officer.

Do you want to trap us?” At that time, Asha, who was slipping in and out of consciousness, had not explicitly mentioned sexual assault or named the other three accused. Her brother narrated that she had been assaulted with the intention to murder, and the police filed an FIR against Sandeep, booking him for attempt to murder, as well as under the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act.

“I had found her naked and she was bleeding from her vagina. The flood situation in Bihar has got more critical with the water entering in new areas affecting more than 62000 people in 16 districts. According to the State Disaster Management Department now, the number of flood victims is more than 75 Lakhs. Around 2.16 Lakhs more people are affected by this disaster. 

Till now, no recent reports of deaths have come holding the figure with 24 in this flood incident. The number of affected Panchayats rose from 1240 to 1260 though that of the flood-hit districts remained at 16.

The highest causalities were reported in Darbhanga district with the number of 10 followed by 6 in Muzaffarpur, 4 in West Champaran and 2 in each Saran and Siwan.

Even 20 teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and 13 of the SDRF have evacuated 536371 people from submerged areas so far. In 7 relief camps, around 12479 people were taken shelter, and nearly 9.29 lakh people were fed at 1,204 community kitchens in the affected districts. 

Several rivers such as the Baghmati, Burhi Gandak, Kamlabalan and the Khiroi are flowing over the danger level. Even the Ganga is flowing above the danger mark at Kahalgaon in Bhagalpur district, but its water level came down at certain places including Patna.

According to the Department, all embankments are safe until now. The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) regional office at Patna has light forecast rain in the catchment areas of all rivers flowing in the state.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered the officials to assure proper sanitization and hygiene in the relief camps set up as the COVID situation is not yet over. 

The 16 flood-affected districts are Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Supaul, Kishanganj, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, West Champaran, East Champaran, Khagaria, Saran, Samastipur, Siwan, Madhubani, Madhepura and Saharsa.
